As a Professor of Human Resources at Seneca College in Toronto, Azhar brings both academic expertise and real-world consulting experience to his work. His insights on workplace culture and human capital development have helped numerous organizations create more engaging and effective work environments.
Azhar is the author of two acclaimed books that showcase his commitment to storytelling and community building. Journey To Home: Canadian Immigrant and Refugee Stories of Hope and Courage captures the authentic experiences of newcomers to Canada, earning widespread praise from business and community leaders for its honest portrayal of the immigrant journey. His earlier work, Confessions of a Dad: My Kids Don’t Understand the Value of Money, addresses the critical need for financial literacy among young adults.
Through his weekly Substack newsletter Dad Logic -Pretending to know everything since 1992 – Azhar shares practical wisdom and insights with a growing community of readers. The newsletter reflects his approachable style and commitment to making complex topics accessible.
Azhar was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and visits often.
When he’s not working with leaders or teaching, Azhar can be found cheering on Toronto sports teams, spending time with his family, and finding ways to pay it forward in his community.
